So once again I spent a week out in California with a few hundred photographers out in the woods for a weekend. To say it like that, it sounds kind of odd, and really, it kind of is. It’s part workshop, part retreat, and part creativity recharge. What makes Field Trip different than anything else out there is that it’s all about people, and all about what made you fall in love with photography in order to get you energized about it again. This is probably one of the only photography “conferences” out there where almost nobody talks about cameras or their gear. Yes, there’s cameras slung over many people’s necks, but that’s not what this gathering is about. What brought me back again this year was the connections that I made with other artists, and most importantly, with myself. When I’m here, I can really focus on what I want out of being an artist and a creator. This gallery is a peek into my trip, and believe me… it does not do my time here justice.
